Dr. Alain Sabri is an Otolaryngologist-Head & Neck Surgeon who has practiced in various geographical areas of the world and has held several leadership positions including chairing four departments, serving as associate chief of staff, medical director of human resources and Assistant Dean for Faculty Affairs & recruitment at major medical schools and medical centers. He was granted the title of Professor form the Cleveland Clinic Lerner School of Medicine and other medical schools. He has lectured extensively throughout the world, organized & chaired many scientific meetings. He is active in research, both basic science and clinical and has published a medical textbook and his research in prestigious international journals. He has also lectured worldwide on the topic of addressing various topics in head and neck surgery as well as presenting on professional burnout, physician wellness and leadership.
He was awarded the Teacher of The Year Award at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota where he was a full time faculty member for several years. He also received the ‘outstanding physician-educator of the year award’ at SSMC-Mayo Clinic in 2021. He was granted the ‘honor award’ from the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery.
As far as his educational journey, after receiving the degree of doctor of medicine at the American University of Beirut, he completed his residency at Georgetown University in surgery and Case Western/University Hospitals of Cleveland in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, he went on to pursue two subspecialty fellowships in head and neck oncologic/microvascular reconstructive surgery, and in otology/neurotology and skull base surgery at Vanderbilt. He has also completed a master’s degree in health and hospital management from ESA business school as well as pursuing Healthcare Leadership Course at INSEAD. Dr. Sabri is American board certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He was also awarded the American Board certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2004.
At the personal level, he speaks three languages fluently (French, Arabic, English) in addition to working proficiency in others. He has organized and was involved in the middle east and south America where he established medical units & dispensaries and operated on adults and children with tumors and various malformations.
