Dr. Balaji Nagammapudur

Dr. Balaji is a British Board-certified General, Laparoscopic, Upper GI, and Bariatric surgeon with over 30 years of surgical experience. After completing his initial medical education and primary surgical qualifications in South India, he completed his higher surgical training in the UK in 1998.

He spent two years conducting clinical research at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, USA, where he focused on esophageal diseases and foregut surgery. Since 2006, he has worked as a consultant in Upper GI and Bariatric surgery in both the UK and India. He has served as a consultant in the National Health Service (NHS) and has held leadership positions at one of the top five high-volume bariatric surgery centers in the UK since 2014.

His passions include managing complex esophageal diseases and performing advanced open and minimally invasive esophageal and hiatal surgeries. He also has expertise in primary and revisional bariatric (weight loss) surgeries.

Dr. Balaji has academic and training interests and has contributed to numerous presentations and publications internationally. He also performs all types of general and advanced laparoscopic surgery, including trauma and emergency surgery.
