Dr. Jassem Abdou

Dr. Jassem Abdou is a renowned Consultant in Pulmonary Medicine and serves as the Head of the Department at Reem Hospital. With over three decades of experience, he is a French board-certified specialist in pulmonary medicine, having received his certification from the University of Lille, France, in 1989. Dr. Abdou’s journey in medicine led him to the UAE in 1992 after practicing in France.

During his remarkable career, he dedicated 18 years of service to Zayed Military Hospital, from 1998 to 2017, where he held the position of Consultant in Pulmonary Medicine and Internal Medicine. His role encompassed comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care, and he actively contributed to the education of students pursuing Arab Board certification in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Abdou’s passion for advancing the field of pulmonary medicine is evident through his extensive research contributions, including publications such as “Cystic Fibrosis in Adults: A 16-Case Study” and “Epidemiology of COPD in the UAE Populations.

Dr. Abdou’s commitment to advancing his field is evident through his participation in various research studies focusing on conditions such as COPD, Asthma, and Sleep Apnea. He specialized in the treatment of mild to severe cases of Asthma, COPD, chest infections, bronchoscopy, pulmonary function test and Sleep Apnea, often utilizing CPAP machines for therapy.

He commenced his journey at Reem Hospital in September 2023, further enriching the healthcare landscape with his expertise and dedication. Dr. Abdou is also a proud member of both the European Respiratory Society and the Emirates Respiratory Society, underscoring his commitment to the field of pulmonary medicine.
