Dr. Maysaa Abbasi

Dr. Maysaa Abbasi has over 25 years of experience in the field of Rheumatology. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Damascus University and completed her postgraduate training and degree in Rheumatology from the same university in 2000. She is a member of the American College of Rheumatology. Dr. Maysaa has worked at prestigious institutes in the UAE since 2008, and prior to that, she worked at a major hospital in Damascus.

Her qualifications include:
• Master of Rheumatology Medicine
• Master of Internal Medicine
• Master of Medical Laboratory Science
• Diploma in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound from Spain

Her passions include the management of:
• General Rheumatological diseases, including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Connective Tissue Diseases, Behçet’s Disease, Vasculitis, and Gout
• Chronic Musculoskeletal pain, Fibromyalgia, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
• Chronic and acute joint, cervical, and back pain
• Metabolic bone diseases, e.g., Osteoporosis
• Soft tissue and intra-articular joint injections

Dr. Maysaa has international publications, including:
• Serum 25-Hydroxy-D in patients without supplementation
• Revisiting HLAB27 in Ankylosing Spondylitis among residents of the UAE
• Sensing the main health concerns in patients with established Rheumatoid Arthritis.
