Dr. Nabil Al Khoury heads the department of critical care medicine at Reem Hospital. He has more than 20 years of experience in the field and is experienced in the care of surgical and medical critically ill ventilated patients with special interest in the use of recent approved evidence-based ventilation modes. He is also involved in the active management of acutely ill patients and cares for patients requiring pain control.
Dr. Nabil has a degree in medicine from Aleppo University in Syria, Medical College. He completed his postgraduate training at the Central Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care at the academic teaching hospitals of Gottingen University in western Germany and obtained his German board in anesthesia and critical care. He is also certified in healthcare quality. Prior to joining Reem Hospital, Dr. Nabil worked in renowned healthcare institutions in Germany, Syria, KSA and the UAE, where he held senior positions as Division Chief of Anesthesia and Critical Care as well as a Chairman Deputy and helped establish the departments of Anesthesia and Critical Care at his former workplace.
Dr. Nabil is a member of prominent medical committees such as the JCI Steering Committee, Medical Executive Committee, Critical Care Committee, and others. He is strongly committed to providing expert, quality care to patients, regardless of the severity of their medical condition.
