Dr. Riaz is a specialist psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and addiction psychiatry specialist. He graduated from the University of Geneva and has been Swiss board-certified since 1998. With nearly 30 years of experience in university hospitals and over 6 years in private practice, he has relocated to the UAE and co-created the concept of Brain Health and Lifestyle Medicine. During his institutional career, Dr. Riaz received extensive training in Geriatric, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry. He served as the former interim head and deputy head of the Addiction Division, deputy head of Anxiety Disorders, and Head of the Emergency Psychiatry Unit at Geneva University Hospital. Dr. Riaz previously served as the treasurer of the International Society of Addiction Medicine (ISAM) and is a distinguished fellow of ISAM. He is an active researcher with over 76 publications, an H-index score of 20 (excluding self-citations), and a ResearchGate Score of 987 with 1389 citations (excluding self-citations).
