Dr. Katarina Simic-Pasalic is a Rheumatology Specialist with over 20 years of experience. She earned her specialist in Internal Medicine degree in 1998 and her Rheumatology specialization in 2000 from the School of Medicine at the University of Belgrade in Serbia. In 2016, she also received her PhD in Rheumatology.
She previously worked in well-known health care facilities in Serbia, Qatar, and the UAE prior to joining Reem Hospital. Dr. Simic-Pasalic was the Assistant Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Belgrade’s School of Medicine, and she previously served as the Head of the Department of Osteoporosis and Bone Metabolic Disorders at the Institute of Rheumatology in Belgrade, Serbia. Dr. Simic-Pasalic also participated in multiple multicentric double blind clinical trials of novel treatments for rheumatoid arthritis, lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, and osteoporosis.
Her clinical experience includes wide range of inflammatory and noninflammatory joint, bone and connective tissue disorders. Dr. Simic-Pasalic is particularly interested in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis and spondyloarthropathies. Dr. Simic Pasalic is involved in the organization of international scientific meetings and educational courses on osteoporosis and has been a guest speaker at a number of national, regional, and European rheumatology meetings.
Her research topics include osteoporosis, systemic sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and rheumatology sonography. Dr. Simic-Pasalic has published over 40 papers in prestigious peer-reviewed journals.
