Rana is a licensed clinical psychologist with the Department of Health (DOH). She obtained her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from the University of the United Arab Emirates (UAEU) and completed her internship with Shiekh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC, BSP). Her bachelor degree in psychology is from Damascus University, in Syria.
Ms. Rana has been in the field of mental health for more than 9 years, working in culturally and professionally diverse settings of patients and medical teams.
She works with adolescents and adults covering a broad range of mental health issues. She is skilled at diagnosing and treating anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, interpersonal problems, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), adjustment issues and psychosis.
Rana provides an integrative approach including concepts of cognitive behavioral treatment (CBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), dialectal therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and interpersonal therapy to help patients manage symptoms, improve their psychological well-being, and establish stronger coping mechanisms.
She is also trained and skilled in psychometric testing that helps assess and diagnose cognitive limitations using a broad range of psychometric tests in addition to personality testing.
