Influenza (Flu)

Tetanus

• Dose:
  • 5 doses in infancy
  • 3 doses if never vaccinated
  • 1 booster every 10 years
  • 1 dose for dirty wounds
• Protection: Prevents muscle spasms, jaw cramping, seizures, breathing difficulties, and death.

Diphtheria

• Dose: 5 doses in infancy, 1 booster every 10 years
• Protection: Prevents breathing and swallowing difficulties, heart failure, brain injury, and death.

Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

• Dose: 5 doses in infancy, 1 dose during pregnancy recommended
• Protection: Prevents severe coughing, pneumonia, and death, especially in infants.

Measles, Mumps, Rubella (German Measles)

• Dose: 2 doses in childhood
• Protection: Prevents fever, rash, brain swelling, pneumonia, hearing loss, miscarriage, stillbirth, and birth defects (if contracted during pregnancy).

Chickenpox (Varicella)

• Dose: 2 doses
• Protection: Prevents blistering rash, infected sores, brain swelling, pneumonia, and death.

Shingles (Zoster)

• Dose: 1 dose (for elderly who had chickenpox)
• Protection: Prevents severe rash, long-term nerve pain, blindness, and death.

HPV (Human Papillomavirus)

• Dose: 2-3 doses
• Protection: Prevents cancers of the cervix, vagina, penis, anus, and throat, and reduces the risk of genital warts.

Pneumococcal

• Dose: 3 doses
• Protection: Prevents pneumonia, blood poisoning, brain and spinal cord infections, and death.

Hepatitis A

• Dose: 2 doses
• Protection: Prevents liver failure, stomach pain, fever, yellow skin/eyes, and death, caused by contaminated food or close contact.

Hepatitis B

• Dose: 4 doses
• Protection: Prevents liver failure, yellow skin/eyes, stomach pain, fever, and death, spread through body fluids.

Meningococcal

• Dose: 2 doses
• Protection: Prevents sepsis, brain damage, hearing loss, and death.

Hib (Haemophilus Influenzae Type B)

• Dose: 4 doses in infancy
• Protection: Prevents lung, brain, and bloodstream infections, and reduces the risk of brain damage, hearing loss, and death.
